Damn am I proud to announce the release of again an amazing album on NJW records. This record sounds and looks simply SO GOOD. While the sound of punkrocknroll is the main influence for quite some bands in nowadays scene, REMAIN keeps their focus on playing straight up hardcore inspired by bands like Floorpunch, No Warning and Judge. Their full length OUT OF ANGER is all about fast songs, anger, and comes with a Judge-vibe in addition. KEEP IT CLEAR is a new straight edge band from Vancouver and put out a demo not so long ago, check it out here. The sounds reminds us to something between Right Brigade, Floorpunch and Carry On, and damn - it totally blew us away so having the chance to release their debut EP is just simply amazing. Releasedate to be affirmed by the way, but it should probably be out before summer. KIC will be releasing the EP in the US. For those interested, KEEP IT CLEAR has some ex- and present members of bands like Go It Alone, Get the Most and Blue Monday.
Now listen to this: one of Holland's safest dudes, Nico from Sailin' On zine/demos, has even been taking care of business in Europe by recently putting the KIC demo out over here, so just get your hands on it. CRUCIAL ATTACK DISTRO will be carrying them as well ofcourse.

Losing x Streak and Damaged Goods on NJW records

27 March 2007 · Over the years, Not Just Words records has picked up quite some bands form their very start. A Step Apart, Icepick, True Colors, Remain, Turn The Screw and Nothing Done are examples of bands who's demo grabbed our attention and became foundation for a solid NJW-release and co-operation.
The last couple of months again two brand new bands delivered a demo that both bring their own specific sound of old school hardcore we love so much. Both bands will be a great addition to the list of NJW records: DAMAGED GOODS and LOSINGxSTREAK, both from Belgium.



Damaged Goods recently recorded a bunch of songs for their upcoming 7"EP on NJW records. We got to see a glimp of the artwork, designed by no one less than Ric Clayton aks RxCx (former No Mercy bassist). Damaged Goods uploaded some demo songs for the upcoming 7" on their website: geturltarget('www.myspace.com/dghc').'>www.myspace.com/dghc. If you dig the demo, add a lot of old Venice influences and you got the deal!

Losing x Streak just released their demo on Thrown Back demotapes. They recently just played their first couple of shows in a row of a lot to come and already got the kids floored. We're totally convinced that this band is going to launch a killer record, which should be out probably around June. Nothing Done - Everybody knows LP/CD out NOW!!

8 March 2007 · Not Just Words records is pleased to announce that the release of the new Nothing Done record is OUT on both lp and cd NOW. The band recorded 10 new tracks at the legendary Bunt Studio, under supervision of Menno Bakker. NJW and Nothing Done are very happy with this follow-up to the band's first LP, Powertrip, released in 2006. Influenced by a wide variety of bands such as Black Flag, Minutemen, Negative Approach, Circle Jerks, the album - which is titled 'EVERBODY KNOWS' - , basically sounds like what you would expect from a new Nothing Done record. A Step Apart quits

12 April 2006 · Again bad news. A Step Apart is going to quit. Comment from our side is coming shortly after their FINAL SHOW, at the notorious LIGHT THE FUSE festival in Hengelo, The Netherlands on May 28th. Here's the band statement:

We've had a lot of great times and played a lot of really amazing shows but the time has come for us to let go of what we have, it's time to move on. Sorry to anyone that's bummed out about this. A one-sided 'farewell' 7" is in the works and hopefully it will be ready in time for our last show. Ever. It will come out on Not Just Words, who will also release our discography CD in the near future. We are and will always be STRAIGHT EDGE and we all will continue to other do bands. Check them out:

Turn The Screw LAST SHOW EVER

28 March 2006 · Turn The Screw will soon play their last show ever. We as NJW records had a good time working with them and wanna thank TTS for delivering a great 7" on our label AND for their efforts to promote NJW records in Belgium. They succeeded in bringing hardcore to their hometown Sint Niklaas and managed to get an EP out by one of the youngest bands around. Thanks a lot guys. Here's the band statement:

Word is already on the streets and yes it´s true. Turn The Screw recently decided to quit. Not much to say about it actually. No internal disagreements or fights or whatever. Some members just wanted to go in different directions in their life. Combined with a lack of motivation, it was just the best thing to do for us. We´ll play our last show on May 5th. in Sint Niklaas/Belgium with Abusive Action, True Colors and Loud & Clear. Some of us might show up in new bands after that. Thanks a lot to all who supported us the last couple of years.

THE FIRST STEP - What we know PRE-ORDERS TAKEN NOW

24 March 2006 · Not Just Words records is now taking pre-orders for the long awaited THE FIRST STEP - "What we know" LP.

Due to circumstances the official release date will be 23-05-2006, but if you wanna get your hands on limited/colored vinyl then you better act now. Pre-orders will ship the week of May 15th.

This is the exclusive license for Europe only from Rivalry records, who will release both the LP and CD in all other territories besides Europe. Both Rivalry and NJW will have different colored vinyl, but (besides the logo) the artwork is exactly the same. Since NJW will be handling Europe and Rivalry the rest of the world, European distros and wholesalers should get the LP through NJW, not through the overseas distributors.

The urgency and intensity of YOUTH OF TODAY, the positive delivery of INSTED, and a strongly rooted foundation in old D.C. and Orange County hardcore - THE FIRST STEP's first official full length release, "WHAT WE KNOW", picks up where they left off on the "Open Hearts and Clear Minds" EP, meanwhile adding some new flavor to their sound along the way. True Colors 7"EP - True Colors from Belgium has ex-members of Justice and Building and originally started out “with only Youth Of Today’s Break down the Walls and the Turning Point demo in mind”. They put out a demo last year and recorded their 6 song 7” EP last week at the famous Bunt Studios. NJW records will be releasing this potential modern day youthcrew classic late February. Check them out on tour with Iron Boots and Justice shortly after.
The First Step "What we know" LP - The urgency and intensity of Youth Of Today, the positive delivery of Insted, and a strongly rooted foundation in old D.C. and Orange County. Exploding with speed and a blistering vocal delivery and a sort of ‘new power’, The First Step’s upcoming full length has much of what we've come to expect from the band: honest, thought-provoking hardcore. Licensed from Rivalry records, we are more than stoked to put out the exclusive European version of the “What we know” LP, probably somewhere in April.
Abusive Action 7"EP – One of the best bands around in Europe nowadays and definitely one of our very favourite bands from the mainland. Whether it’s the demo, the 12” on Crucial Response or their live shows, it’s no secret that we’ve been huge fans of this band from the very start. Attempting to further define their sound, Abusive Action will be recording a 7” EP in March, to be released by NJW records early May.
A Step Apart "The bonds we share" CD - Both the long sold out 'There is a choice' 7"EP as well as the 'Structure' 7"EP on CD. Plus a few compilation songs and the demo as a bonus. It should be out somewhere in March/April and will be released in Asia as well on Townhall records (Korea) and Crucial Times records (Japan).

Not Just Words records 5 year anniversary SHOWCASE
NJW records is celebrating its 5 year anniversary this fall with a showcase. Bands playing: A STEP APART, ICEPICK, NOTHING DONE, NO TURNING BACK and NEW MORALITY. It will be ASA's 7" releaseshow and the NM demo releaseshow (released by geturltarget('www.lightthefuse.nl').'>www.lightthefuse.nl). The show will take place on Saturday, October 8th. Place to be is Innocent in Hengelo/the Netherlands.

UPCOMING RELEASES:
Their first 7" litterally only got awesome reviews from all over the world and now we will be doing the brand new 4 song 7" by A STEP APART called 'Structure'. Keywords: Chain of Strength, Insted, Statue. Add some drama and you know what to expect. Scheduled for september 2005, releaseshow on October 8th. in Hengelo/Netherlands. Speaking of ASA: they have new merch. The "There is a Choice"-design will be reprinted on the colors 'natural' and 'yellow' as well as hoodies in the same design. Last but not least, especially for the upcoming show they have with INSTED in Hengelo, The Netherlands, they'll have a limited run of this design printed on white Champion-brand shirts. These shirts will be exclusively available at that show and will not be up for mailorder.

Four snobs from Belgium recently sent us a tape with awesome recordings for a 7". As a result, we concluded that TURN THE SCREW deserves a chance. We hope to have their limited editioned 7" out somewhere in October/November. These youngsters (with a 16 year old drummer!) can be considered a part of the new breed of the flourishing Belgian hardcorescene. Expect 9 fast songs, influenced by bands like Knife Fight, Negative Approach with some kind of a 'Mental-vibe' in addition.

NOTHING DONE is currently preparing to record 12 songs for a 12" on NJW records, and a CD on Dead and gone records (which will also feature the out of print demo and sold out 7" on NJW records). The record will show a slight departure from ND's earlier style of hardcore, mixing up AF/Antidote influenced tunes with a Black Flag feel. This 12" will definitely have more of a punk side than the demo and 7". The LP should be out in November.

Still in the works is the limited REARRANGE 7" by ex- and present members of Abusive Action, Downslide, Strip the Threads, Know Your Enemy and Reaching Forward. Since it's a project band both the band and label are not in a rush to have it released but it will come out someday. Keywords: the Chain, drama, Statue, drama, Hands Tied, drama.
Last but not least: Our friends from REMAIN faced quite some bad luck lately. They replaced their singer and Henk (who also handled the mic in the Dead Scenestars) will now do the vocals. There are plans for a promotional demo and when everything is back on track we still hope to work out a record for them.
